In the run up to Christmas SNP MSP Stuart McMillan is opening his Greenock office doors to receive foodbank donations.
The MSP will be accepting food donations at his office in Argyle Street, Greenock.
Mr McMillan has recently been involved in a number of campaigns with local foodbanks, including pressing all of Scotland’s football clubs to stage collections at their home matches.
Anyone who wishes to make a donation of food in the run up to Christmas can drop them into Mr McMillan’s office at 4 Argyle Street, Greenock. Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Mr McMillan will then pass these onto local groups.
Speaking from his Greenock office, Mr McMillan said:
“With Christmas approaching the number of people requiring assistance from foodbanks will no doubt increase.
“By opening my office doors to accepting donations, I hope I can in some small way help local foodbanks and make is easier for those who wish to donate to do so.
“Christmas is a fun and enjoyable time, however, for many living on a financial knife-edge, one small change in circumstances can force them into a crisis where they cannot afford food at this time of year.
“I would therefore encourage anyone who wishes to make a food donation this Christmas to do so. My office will be available to accept donations, which I will pass onto local groups, Monday to Friday 9-5.
