Stuart McMillan MSP SNP has highlighted concerns with the increase in the number of fly-tipping incidents on railway land in the Port Glasgow area.
Mr McMillan was responding to a letter he received from Network Rail which indicates four recent occasions where the company had to deal with fly-tipping following complaints raised by members of the public and the local authority.
Commenting, SNP MSP Stuart McMillan said:
“I’m disappointed to learn of the recent fly-tipping incidents which appear to be occurring on railway land in the Port Glasgow area.
“This raises a number of concerns with regards to safety and also environmental damage.
“As Network Rail indicate, fly-tipping is illegal and those who undertake such acts, if caught, will be prosecuted and fined.
“Therefore, I would urge member of the public to be vigilant and understand these types of incidents are unacceptable, as they cause risk and damage our landscape.”
