Greenock based MSP Stuart McMillan has today given his backing the campaign to have Morton legend Allan McGraw inducted into the SFA’s Hall of Fame.
The SNP MSP has lodged a motion to the Scottish Parliament commending the campaign and wishing it every success.
Speaking Mr McMillan said:
“Allan McGraw is a Morton legend, who was not only an oustanding player and talented manager, but is a decent human being.
“I was delighted to hear that the campaign to have him inducted into the SFA’s Hall of Fame has been kickstarted by his neice.
“I am fully behind this campaign, as I am sure every Morton fan is, and wish them every success.”

That the Parliament commends the campaign to have the former Morton footballer and manager, Allan McGraw, elected to the Scottish Football Association’s Hall of Fame; understands that nominations for the Hall of Fame are now open and the new inductees will be unveiled in October 2015; applauds what it sees as Allan’s outstanding achievements in the game over a period of 36 years with Morton, both as a player and manager; notes that he finished as Morton’s top goal scorer in five consecutive seasons, helping the club to two promotions and a place in a Scottish League Cup Final in 1963-64; acknowledges the opportunities that he gave to young players, and wishes the campaign every success.
