SNP Politicians express concern over speeding at Mearns Street

Stuart McMillan MSP and Councillor Math Campbell-Sturgess have highlighted their concern over speeding at Mearns Street, Greenock.  A constituent contacted Stuart McMillan MSP with concerns about traffic regularly speeding on Mearns Street.  Stuart McMillan MSP and local SNP councillor for the area Math Campbell-Sturgess have raised their concerns with Inverclyde Council.

Stuart McMillan MSP said:

“I was contacted by a constituent who lives in the area and they raised their concerns regarding speeding on the road.

“There are huge levels of investment currently taking place which is warmly welcomed. However, with potentially more people to use the Mearns Street area there are legitimate concerns of road traffic incidents taking place. Cars regularly speed along the road and with the Wellpark Children’s Centre being close by then there are concerns for children.”

Councillor Math Campbell-Sturgess added:

“This is an issue which is causing concern locally and I’ve asked the council to look into the situation to see what action they can take to tackle the speeding.”
