SNP Politicians Flag Up Flooding Fears

A constituent alerted Stuart McMillan MSP to some issues flooding problems at Stoneleigh Place in the west-end of Greenock.  A bus stop has recently been installed in the area without a gulley.  This has resulted in large areas of water forming when it rains, leading to the area flooding fairly rapidly.

Stuart McMillan said:

Stoneleigh Place“It seems strange that a new bus stop has been installed without regard to proper drainage, such as installing a gulley.

“Blocked drains and flooding hazards like this are more than just a nuisance and can make it difficult for people using public transport.

Councillor Math Campbell-Sturgess added:

“Stuart McMillan MSP highlighted this issue to me and I have contacted Inverclyde Council’s Environmental Services department about this.  Hopefully we shall see some resolution of the problems soon.”
