Greenock and Inverclyde MSP Stuart McMillan has thanked Arnold Clark after the car dealers generously donated a vehicle for him for a week to undertake his cross-country ‘pipeathon’ in aid of charity next week.
Stuart is kicking off his football-themed ‘pipeathon’ initiative for charity at Cappielow Park on Monday 17th July in a bid to pipe at every professional football ground in Scotland over the course of 5 days this July to raise money for a number of charities.
All donations raised will be divided equally for three charities – Cash for Kids, Clydeside Action on Asbestos and the Andy Adams Fund; an Inverclyde firefighter whose life has been irrevocably changed due to an incident he was involved in whilst on duty.
Commenting, Stuart said that this donation from Arnold Clark was ‘incredibly generous’, and hoped that others may follow suit in getting involved:
“I am delighted that Arnold Clark are willing and able to donate a vehicle that will allow me to travel around the country in aid of raising money for charity. This is an incredibly generous and thoughtful gesture on behalf of the company which will make a huge contribution to the success of this initiative.
“All monies raised will be split equally for three charities – Cash for Kids, Clydeside Action on Asbestos and the Andy Adams Fund.
“I want to thank Arnold Clark for doing their bit in taking part in this initiative, and I would like to encourage other organisations and the wider public to please get in touch with my office to see how they can also contribute.”
Chief Executive and Group Managing Director of Arnold Clark Eddie Hawthorne added:
“It is a pleasure to support MSP Stuart McMillian and the Pipeathon 2017. I hope everyone has a great day raising funds for all the different charities chosen.”
